The Botanical Brasserie – Damai Edition is a luxurious, biophilic restaurant concept set against the breathtaking natural backdrop of Sarawak’s Damai and Santubong coastlines. Nestled between the majestic curve of Mount Santubong and the shimmering coastline of the South China Sea, this concept celebrates the rich, layered beauty of its surroundings—offering a refined, sensory-driven experience rooted in both nature and culture.
At its heart, The Botanical Brasserie is a high-end restaurant specialising in modern local fusion cuisine—where traditional Sarawakian flavors are elevated with contemporary culinary techniques and thoughtful presentation. This design concept was developed to embody that same balance: honoring the land and culture while elevating the overall experience with sophisticated materiality, thoughtful zoning, and serene ambiance.
Built upon the principles of Biophilic Design, every inch of the space connects guests to the earth—from travertine stone counters to suspended gardens and slow, filtered lighting. Inside, a curated palette of earthy neutrals, deep greens, and coastal textures echoes the environment outside: the misty peaks of Santubong, the rustling palms of Damai, the soft rhythm of the sea.
Guests are welcomed through arched entrances wrapped in climbing plants, greeted by the scent of pandan, lime leaf, and timber, and seated under canopies of greenery with panoramic views of the coast. The atmosphere is immersive, the experience slow and soulful—offering a space for both indulgence and restoration.
